- story by Cellulose factory
Cellulose is a collective name for plant based various fibers. This valuable material can be used for various purposes. It can be used for pulp products, furniture or making clothing.
The Cellulose Factory uses cellulose from different waste streams because we produce an abundance of cellulose. Their partner in the Circular Challenge, the Catharina hospital, has a production of 312,000 kilograms of cellulose per year. In the Netherlands, we also flush 180,000 tons of toilet paper through the sewer per year. Both are valuable resources of cellulose which are now being burned instead of being used to develop circular products.
The samples are a representation of cellulose used for developing pulp products.
