Circular Prosopis hardwood
- story by Tabled Design (Tabled Europe B.V.)
The Prosopis tree, that was introduced to the African continent by man, uses enormous amounts of water and supersedes local flora. By threatening the natural balance it inflicts collapse of food chains. By using the wood of this ‘devil’s tree’ to make furniture, Tabled protects the biodiversity in Namibia.
Prosopis wood has a beautiful warm golden hue. The wood is relatively light with 800kg/m3, but is about twice as hard as oak wood.
Tabled supplies both furniture pieces and half fabricates for the furniture industry. Tabled finishes their products in a green star certified monocoat furniture oil.
