GPA Luxury has unveiled the results of its latest project: a line of fully biodegradable luxury pack styles. Dubbed as “Eco-Logic”, the new range features three distinctive packs. Each has been designed and constructed using the latest innovations in sustainable materials.

Every element, from the inks, foils and varnishes to the moulded pulp and FSC-certified paper and card, has been carefully selected to create truly luxurious packaging that surpasses customer expectations around recycling and sustainability.

The packs boast striking designs, printed using soy inks, and are finished with biodegradable aluminium transfer paper, spot UV and, in the case of the Peacock pack, a distinctive coating of deep blue suede-like material – made from recycled cotton flock which is fully biodegradable.

Each pack also features a moulded pulp insert, manufactured using a wet-press technique, which gives a precise and refined finish comparable to thermoformed plastic. The big difference with moulded pulp is that it is fully biodegradable!

This exciting new range was designed to showcase GPA Luxury’s ability to harness the latest innovations in sustainable materials and finishes along with its expertise in moulded pulp within the cosmetics sector – and they are impressed with the results!

Butterfly
A telescoping cosmetics pack wrapped in Winter & Company FSC-certified Wibalin Recycled paper. The insert is 100% compostable moulded pulp, constructed using wet-press technology to achieve a plastic-like finish. Aluminium transfer paper lines the inner face of the lid – unlike regular silver card, it has no plastic film and is 100% biodegradable. All inks are made from soybeans – compared to traditional petroleum-based inks, these are considered more environmentally friendly. Adhesives are water-based white glue, foils can be easily separated during standard recycling processes.

Leaves
A shoebox-style cosmetics pack wrapped in Winter & Company FSC-certified Wibalin Recycled paper. A standing cosmetics pack wrapped in Winter & Company Suedel Luxe Recycled, an FSC-certified material made from recycled paper and recycled cotton flock. All inks are made from soybeans – compared to traditional petroleum-based inks, these are considered more environmentally friendly. Adhesives are water-based white glue, foils can be easily separated during standard recycling processes.
