Transparent, acoustic curtain fabrics
- story by Vescom Nederland
Carmen, Marmara and Formozo are translucent curtain fabrics that are able to absorb five times more sound than customary translucent curtain fabrics. Produced by Vescom, these innovative, woven curtain fabrics not only improve a room’s acoustics while providing filtered light, they are also durable, lightweight and colourfast. As an added benefit, curtains can be designed and made without seams.
Offering a sound absorption coefficient, alphaw, of between 0.5 and 0.6, the use of these curtain fabrics reduces echoes, absorbs sound and improves verbal understandability in interior project surroundings such as office areas, conference rooms, restaurants, hotel lobbies and multifunctional halls. The fabrics, woven from Trevira CS yarns, are fire retardant and comply with the most stringent European standard for public areas (B1 according to DIN 4102). The compositions of Carmen, Marmara and Formoza are as follows:
Carmen: 86 % Trevira CS / 14 % PES FR
Marmara: 88 % Trevira CS / 12 % PES FR
Formoza: 90 % Trevira CS / 10 % PES FR
