Secutex® Green is a mechanically bonded nonwoven geotextile made entirely from organic, renewable raw materials. Developed as part of Naue’s GreenLine range, it is designed for applications where a temporary geotechnical solution is required and long-term synthetic materials are not desirable.
The product is certified as fully biodegradable in accordance with EN 13432 and is compostable in industrial and home composting environments. It is also biodegradable under suitable natural soil, freshwater and marine conditions. During degradation, the material can be metabolised by soil organisms, microorganisms and fungi. Secutex® Green contains no plastics and leaves no harmful residues in the environment. It is UV-resistant and can therefore be used in exposed applications.
Typical uses include landscaping and gardening, temporary road and path construction, erosion control, riverbank and shoreline protection, and scour protection. In these applications, the geotextile functions as a separation, filtration or protection layer until vegetation and root systems take over the stabilising role. It can also be supplied in the form of geotextile sand containers (Secutex® Green Soft Rock).
The expected service life is generally up to three years, depending on local soil, water and climatic conditions, particularly biological activity. Industrial fibre production and controlled needle-punching ensure consistent quality, allowing classification within geotextile robustness classes GRK 2 to GRK 5. Standard widths are available in 2 m, 4 m and 6 m.
