3D printed furniture made of coffee grounds
Lowpoly, a Spanish 3D printing company, 3D printed furniture made with coffee grounds for a coffee shop in Barcelona.
The coffee shop of D-Origen is located in the historic Casa Calvet, designed by Antoni Gaudí. The shop features custom furniture like bars, lamps, and stools, made with Lowpoly’s Lowimpact material, a mix of PLA and coffee grounds. The semitranslucent material shows the little specks of the coffee grounds. It contains 98 per cent organic content, is biodegradable, and free of fossil fuels. The colour varies from dark brown to almost white.
The furniture was designed by Gianluca Pugliese, Arturo Tedeschi, and Ilaria Marzano.
