A yoga mat made of recycled shoes

Footwear brand Kane offers a recycle service for their shoes, which are turned into yoga mats.

Called Project Renew, the upcycling programme allows customers to send back Kane’s injection moulded Revive sneakers. The sneakers are made of sugarcane-based EVA foam.

The shoes, along with wetsuits, are shredded, and turned into yoga and changing mats. Each mat diverts 2.5 kilograms (5 pounds) of waste material from the landfill.
