An inflatable table lamp
Germany-based designer Eva Ausmann designed a lamp stands upright and is controlled by air.
Called Squeeze, the project is the result of experimenting with air as a design principle. The lamp is made of TPU coated nylon. Welded joints and fixtures function solely with the force of air, without the need for connecting elements like screws. The lamp is lightweight and can be deflated for easy transportation.
Squeeze can be attached to the edge of a table through the pressure created between two air cushions at the bottom of the object. The light is controlled by an air pressure sensor that is integrated in the design. The sensor reacts to the light’s membrane being pressed.

The design is exciting and cool, featuring a nice choice of colours and shapes. While TPU-coated nylon is a great material, I believe there are more circular, environmentally friendly options that could enhance this beautiful, functional desk lamp. Have you considered other sustainable materials?
