Clothing printed with air pollution

For their latest clothing collection, streetwear company Pangaia teamed up with Graviky Labs, a spin-off company of MIT that makes ink from air pollution, to make printing on clothing more sustainable.

The fashion industry has a large carbon footprint that contributes to extremely high amounts of air pollution worldwide. Printing and dyeing clothing is one of the contributors.

Air-Ink, the product made by Graviky Labs, is an in made with air pollution. With carbon capturing technology polluting particles are captured from the air. These particles can be turned in different grades of inks, dispersions and coatings. You can read more about the technology and ink here.

Pangaia uses safe, water-based ink which was developed especially for clothing to print their logo and text blocks onto their collection.
