In the Germinal public gardens of Evere, Brussels, a new pavilion called Folly (Vase) now welcomes visitors. Belgian artist Elise Eeraerts and Spanish architect Roberto Aparicio Ronda designed the project, built from 3D printed ceramic vases. As a result, the structure acts both as a sculpture and as part of the garden. The renovation of De Nieuwe Post in Arnhem has started. The Dutch Central Government Real Estate Agency asked @Heijmansnl to turn the historic post office into a sustainable and future-proof building. More than half of the materials come from reuse or biobased sources. Some are harvested directly from the existing structure. As a result, De Nieuwe Post will become one of the most circular redevelopment projects in the city. Brown algae, known as sargassum, are washing up in large amounts on beaches in Brazil, the Caribbean, and the United States. The piles of seaweed harm tourism, fishing, and biodiversity. When the algae decompose, they release gases that can also affect human health.
