Removable paint that you can just peel off

Columbian paint company Glasst developed a new type of paint that, rather than painting over it or using paint remover, can just be peeled off after use.

Called Unpaint, the coating can be applied to any surface, including plywood, glass, metal, plastic, and concrete. The paint is available in matte and satin colours, and can be applied like regular paint, with a roller, brush, or sprayer. Users should apply two to three coats of paint with at least 30 minutes of drying time between each one. After 24 hours, the paint is fully dry. Once you’re done with it, the paint can be peeled off like an elastic film. The company says the underlying surface remains undamaged, but also advises to test in a small area beforehand.

In addition, the paint is biodegradable. However, this is also a downside, as the coatings tarts to biodegrade after 12 months even while still on the wall. The paint is really just for short term solutions, and shouldn’t be used in direct sunlight.
