MaterialDistrict and ARCHITECT@WORK are announcing a new collaboration. With the materials exhibition “Super Skins” during ARCHITECT@WORK in Kortrijk (11 & 12 May 2023), MaterialDistrict presents innovative finishes and materials for surface design.

Whether it’s the facade of buildings or the finishing of interior objects, surface design can turn good design into something fantastic. They can protect the materials underneath, purify the air, or independently ‘finish’ the space with their appearance.

Exhibition Super Skins
During the “Super Skins” exhibition, specially curated for ARCHITECT@WORK, MaterialDistrict shows a wide range of more than 120 different, innovative and sustainable material samples. “Super Skins” brings together the materials of hypotheticals, designers and architects that open up new possibilities to think about the surfaces of buildings and interiors. The materials are both functional and aesthetic, with the potential to transform the built environment, such as high-performance ceramics, composite composites and intelligent materials and coatings that respond to their environment. The “Super Skins” is an opportunity for architects and designers to explore the possibilities of new surface materials and discover how they can be realized in their projects. Whether creating a surprising facade for a commercial building or designing an innovative interior space, the materials on display at the exhibition offer multiple opportunities for creativity and innovation. Besides in Kortrijk, the exhibition “Super Skins” will also be shown during ARCHITECT@WORK Rotterdam on 11 & 12 September 2024.
