Agrocrete® is a construction material developed by GreenJams as an alternative to conventional masonry units such as clay bricks and autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) blocks. The blocks are manufactured using upcycled agricultural residues and selected industrial by-products, forming part of a low-carbon construction strategy. The product is positioned as carbon-negative across its lifecycle, meaning that it stores more carbon than is emitted during its production.
Agrocrete® blocks are available in hollow and solid formats for use in load-bearing and non-load-bearing wall systems. Typical block dimensions include 400 × 150 × 100 mm and 400 × 150 × 225 mm. The material has a declared compressive strength of at least 5 MPa, water absorption between 10 and 12%, and a dry density ranging from 800 to 1000 kg/m³. Thermal conductivity is stated as ≤ 1.2 W/m²K. The embodied carbon is reported as −0.15 kg CO₂ per kilogram of material, in contrast to positive values typically associated with conventional clay bricks and AAC blocks.
In addition to masonry units, GreenJams offers BINDR, an ultra-low-carbon alternative to conventional cement-based binders. The products are designed to meet structural and environmental performance requirements while supporting compliance with sustainability objectives in building projects.
Agrocrete® has been used in residential, industrial and mixed-use developments in India. The company positions its technology as a response to the environmental impact of conventional cement and fired clay materials, aiming to reduce emissions while main
