Circular Ceramics is made from high-fired ceramic waste. The clay developed by Meaningful Matter includes a mixture of waste materials, either mixed or sorted. In current production, the waste content can reach up to 75%. The studio is also developing samples made entirely from ceramic waste.

The samples demonstrate the different characteristics of the clay at varying waste percentages. All recipes can be fired at lower temperatures than the original firing temperature, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions during firing and production. Colour is also used to further reduce the firing temperature.

Visibility does not necessarily indicate a high waste percentage. Different characteristics can be created and recipes can be adjusted to meet the product requirements or specific design/project needs. Meaningful Matter also develops custom recipes and colours for hospitality, architecture, and design applications.
