ADVERTORIAL -

Roofclix is a roof tile system developed to reduce heat gain in buildings and improve energy performance. Designed primarily for flat roofs, the tiles reflect up to 90% of incoming solar radiation, limiting the conversion of sunlight into heat. By keeping roof surfaces close to ambient shade temperature, the system aims to reduce indoor overheating and decrease the need for active cooling.

The performance of Roofclix is based on two physical principles: reflection and convection. High solar reflectance prevents most heat absorption, while a ventilated air cavity beneath the tiles allows residual heat to dissipate through air movement. During colder periods, the system also functions as an additional insulating layer by reducing heat loss from the roof.

The tiles are positioned as a supportive substructure for photovoltaic (PV) systems. By lowering surface temperatures beneath solar panels, Roofclix can contribute to improved PV efficiency, with reported gains of 10–30% depending on conditions. The material is also described as fire-resistant and carries a Warrington Fire Label certification.

In addition to thermal benefits, the system protects underlying bituminous roofing membranes from UV radiation and thermal stress. By shielding the roof covering, Roofclix may extend the service life of the waterproofing layer and reduce maintenance frequency.

Roofclix is developed by Sustainable Durable Systems B.V. and is intended to provide both environmental and economic benefits through reduced cooling demand, improved solar performance, and extended roof durability.
