This wall-to-wall carpet is made from high-quality wool yarns, dyed using Zeefier®, a proprietary dye technology based entirely on seaweed and developed and produced in Europe. The carpet combines the proven performance of wool with a next-generation, biobased colouring process, fully aligned with European manufacturing standards.
The base material consists of 100% wool, selected for its resilience, comfort and long service life. Wool is naturally insulating, sound-absorbing and breathable, making it suitable for both residential and commercial interiors. It is inherently flame-retardant and contributes to a healthy indoor environment by regulating humidity and capturing fine dust particles.
Colouration is achieved using Zeefier® seaweed-based dyes, derived entirely from seaweed as a renewable raw material. The dyes are produced through an industrially scalable extraction process in Europe and are free from synthetic colourants and heavy metals. Zeefier® dyes are designed to run on existing industrial dyeing equipment, requiring no additional machinery or modifications at the dyehouse.
The seaweed-based dyes bind effectively to wool fibres, resulting in rich, nuanced colours with natural depth. Subtle tonal variations may occur, reflecting the organic origin of the pigments and giving each carpet a distinctive character. The dyed wool meets industry standards for colour fastness and durability suitable for wall-to-wall carpet applications.
From an environmental perspective, the use of Zeefier® significantly reduces reliance on fossil-based and toxic dye chemistries commonly used in conventional carpet production. The dyes are biodegradable and contribute to cleaner wastewater streams and a reduced chemical footprint during manufacturing. The seaweed is sourced from European supply chains, including controlled harvesting and residual streams, ensuring that the material does not compete with food production and supports a circular, bio-based economy.
This seaweed-dyed wool carpet, manufactured in Europe, is designed for long-term use and timeless interiors. It offers architects and designers a responsible, high-performance material choice that combines innovation, aesthetics and industrial scalability.
