Wool & biobased plastic Carpet
- story by MaterialDistrict
Designer Christien Meindertsma and natural fibre specialist Enkev have teamed up to create a material that combines the natural fibres of recycled wool with strong bioplastic fibres, making a new material that can be heat-pressed into various shapes.
The Wool & Biobased Plastic carpet is a sustainable carpet. It is warm pressed to create a dense sheet with meshed lines. The carpets are available in grey and broken white. Single pieces can adorn separate rooms, can be combined to create a room’s centrepiece or be used as acoustic isolation on the walls.
After use, the material is completely biodegradable.
