Vienna-based architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au designed a rather oversized coat, which, using metallic fabric, is said to protect the wearer from radio waves and signals, as well as tracking devices such as GPS.

Called the CHCL Jammer Coat, the piece of clothing “enables its user to disappear”. The coat is made of metallised fabrics, which block radio waves and shield against tracking devices. Wearing the coat, you can no longer be reached by your phone and your credit card information is safe as well.

“The Wave Circle pattern of the fabric gives an illusion of strange multiple body parts,” the firm states, “which hides and frees the individual physicality.”

The coat was designed in response to the invitation of curator Alessandro Guerriero, created for the exhibition “Abiti da lavoro” taking place in the Triennale in Milan in the end of June 2014.
