A Glare-Free, Energy-Efficient Future for Digital Art Displays
At CES 2025, PocketBook introduced the Color ePaper Digital Art Posters, branded under “InkPoster”. These displays incorporate E Ink Spectra 6 technology, aiming to offer an eco-friendly and energy-efficient alternative to traditional LCD displays. Developed in collaboration with E Ink and Sharp, the InkPoster line features three models with advanced screen technologies.
E Ink Spectra Technology Details
The 31.5-inch and 13.3-inch InkPoster models utilize E Ink Spectra 6 technology, which employs millions of electronic colour microcapsules to produce detailed visuals. The 28.5-inch model combines E Ink Spectra 6 with Sharp’s IGZO technology for enhanced colour performance and faster image updates. Spectra 6 supports a resolution of up to 200 PPI and uses advanced imaging algorithms to achieve high-quality visuals.
Design for Sustainability and Safety
The InkPoster is designed to reduce environmental impact by requiring no power to maintain a static image. Power is consumed only during image changes, enabling months or even a year of use between charges. The screen emits no blue light or heat, making it suitable for extended viewing without causing eye strain.
Integration into Modern Interiors
With its paper-like display, the InkPoster replicates the texture of real paper, making it a versatile choice for homes, restaurants, hotels, and galleries. Its glare-free technology allows for clear visibility under various lighting conditions, offering an alternative to conventional digital screens.
Wireless Features and Energy Efficiency
The InkPoster models include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for easy transfer of artwork or personal photographs via a companion mobile app. A curated art collection is also available, providing a range of visuals to suit different environments. The devices are powered by long-lasting batteries, supporting up to a year of operation on a single charge:
Art Accessibility and Customization
The InkPoster App enables users to access a library of curated artwork or upload their own digital images. The app is designed to facilitate customization and ensure each display is tailored to user preferences.
Future Potential of Digital Displays
The InkPoster offers a combination of energy-efficient operation, safe viewing, and a paper-like aesthetic. It provides a sustainable option for interior and product designers looking for eco-friendly display solutions. With its advanced features and customizable options, the InkPoster presents an innovative approach to digital art displays.
