A permeable concrete paver system

Norwegian design studio Snøhetta designed a permeable paver system consisting of interlocking concrete hexagonal pieces.

With increasing streets and surfaces in cities, water management is more important than ever. Permeable surfaces can help manage larger water loads.

Commissioned by outdoor products supplier Asak, the Flyt collection consists of three concrete hexagonal interlocking stones that can be combined to create seamless transitions when designing and programming outdoor spaces.

The interlocking spaces between each stone in the Flyt paving system allow for fluent transitions between various users and needs in the urban landscape. The permeability is up to 28 percent per square meter of water.
