A house made of 100+ sustainable materials

With Exploded View Beyond Building, Biobased Creations, along with 100 pioneers from the world of circular and biobased building created a life-size biobased house which is shown for the first time during Dutch Design Week, from 16-24 October in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The exhibition in the form of a house shows over 100 natural building materials, including materials made from food, seaweed, (sewage) water, soil, fungi, et cetera. You can walk through the house and see, feel, and smell all the materials.

Each house has its own story, and during DDW, storytellers will be present to introduce visitors to the world of circular building.

The Exploded View Beyond Building is the result of a collaboration and research by builders, products, farmers, scientists, designers, governments, knowledge institutes, storytellers and artist who are united in the Embassy of Circular and Biobased Building. They work on new perspectives for sustainable, circular and biobased, building and living.

The aim of the exhibition is to show designers, architects and residents that it is possible to build large-scale construction projects.

During DDW 2021, The Exploded View Beyond Building on Ketelhuisplein can be visited free of charge.

Earlier, Biobased Creations created the exhibition The Exploded View at Design Museum Ghent (Belgium). They also presented The Growing Pavilion at DDW 2019.
