The world’s first colour changing swimming trunks

While swimming trunks are available in many sizes, colours and patterns, they usually stay the same throughout their use. Swimwear brand SEA’SONS introduces the world’s first colour changing swimming trunks. The fabrics are treated with heat reactive microcapsules that cause the swimming trunks to change colour when they come into contact with cold water!

The swimming trunks do not change colour because of the water, but because of the temperature. Because the water has a different temperature than the air, the fabric changes colour. When the trunks dry and become warmer, the original colour will return. The amount of colour changes is not limited.

The swimming trunks, made of 100 per cent polyester, are available in 4 colours, green/yellow, purple/pink, blue/green and orange/yellow. The trunks do never have never the same colour or pattern, because the fabric does not dry evenly.

The technique of colour changing fabric is not new, but its use is, as the application in swimwear has never been done before. Unfortunately, the effect wears off due to UV radiation, but it should keep for at least a season.
