End date | 24 March 2016 |
Location | Material Xperience On Tour - Amsterdam RAI |
We are pleased to announce that we will be present for the first time at Building Holland (March 22 – 24) with our travelling exhibition, Material Xperience On Tour.
The theme of this exhibition is ‘Biobased Future’ and together with selected partners, Materia will be showing innovative materials that hold particular value for the sustainability of the construction sector. The goal is to inspire all stakeholders in the building process with innovative materials.
Biobased materials certainly appeal to the imagination. Algae, fungi, coffee waste, agricultural residues; with pure organic renewable materials we can create sustainable products that fit within the natural cycle of the circular economy. Bowls made from espresso grounds, textiles from banana leaves, textiles based on milk protein, carpets of cactus and bamboo fibres, insulation made from mushrooms, cork, panels made from scented rose panels and bioplastics based on starch are a few more highlights.
At Building Holland, Materia will be exhibiting 100 of these forward looking biobased materials. Each material is carefully selected for Building Holland by experts from the Materia network. “We are really proud of bringing this worldwide and leading exhibition to our event! For years, Material Xperience has been a phenomenon for architects and interior designers. But what about builders, consultants, developers, building owners and installers. At Building Holland, many of these target groups will come in contact for the first time with Material Xperience On Tour. My wish is that in about five years, projects are realized with biobased materials that visitors discovered at Material Xperience On Tour during Building Holland 2016,” says Wietse Walinga, Director of Building Holland.
“Our goal an innovative platform is to connect manufacturers with stakeholders in the building process so that material innovations effectively quickly and effectively find their way into the building process,” adds Jeroen van Oostveen, Director of Materia. “At the same time, we also build bridges between parties in different markets – both geographically and in the construction sectors in which they operate. Our presentation at Building Holland is a good example of the cooperation that can bring new opportunities to our partners. It is a true win-win situation for all involved. ”
