Swisstulle has developed a collection of knitted tulle and power net fabrics manufactured from recycled synthetic fibres for use in lingerie, underwear and technical textile applications. The range is designed to offer an alternative to fabrics made from virgin polyester and polyamide while maintaining the performance characteristics required for embroidery and apparel production.
The collection includes fabrics produced from recycled polyester (rPES) and recycled polyamide (rPA), both of which are certified according to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). The recycled fibres are processed into knitted structures with properties comparable to those of conventional virgin materials, providing suitable strength, dimensional stability and handling characteristics for garment manufacturing.
The recycled polyester range includes several knitted tulle constructions, such as classic tulle, closed-knit tulle and decorative fantasy tulle, available in different weights, mesh sizes and designs. The recycled polyamide collection consists of power net fabrics containing approximately 20% recycled elastane from the ROCIA™ brand, offering elasticity and support for performance and intimate apparel applications.
The fabrics are intended for embroidery as well as direct use in garments, allowing designers to combine them with other textiles or incorporate them as visible structural elements. Customer-specific colours can be produced through Swisstulle’s in-house dyeing facilities to meet project and collection requirements.
In addition to recycled fibre options, the collection also includes a knitted tulle manufactured from Amni Soul Eco®, a biodegradable polyamide. According to the material manufacturer, this fibre is designed to biodegrade under anaerobic landfill conditions within approximately three years, based on ASTM D5511 testing.
