Forestlines® is a timber façade cladding system developed by Paulussen Hardhout that combines sustainably sourced hardwood with engineered aluminium profiles. Designed according to circular construction principles, the system integrates fire performance, durability and material efficiency into a concealed-fixing façade solution for residential, commercial and public buildings.

The system accommodates a range of durable hardwood species, including FSC-certified timber and Lesser Known Timber Species (LKTS). By encouraging the use of a broader variety of responsibly managed timber species, Forestlines® aims to support biodiversity while reducing pressure on commonly specified hardwoods. The timber is combined with high-quality aluminium profiles finished with a scratch-resistant coating that complies with QUALICOAT Seaside standards, providing enhanced resistance in coastal and industrial environments.

A defining characteristic of Forestlines® is its fire performance. The façade system achieves a reaction-to-fire classification of B-s1,d0 in accordance with EN 13501-1 without requiring chemical fire-retardant treatment of the timber. The classification has been validated through extensive testing across multiple untreated timber species, profile widths, substructures, insulation materials and façade configurations. The system has also been tested for long-term durability, including accelerated weathering performance in accordance with EN 927-3.

Forestlines® employs concealed mechanical fixings, resulting in a clean façade appearance without visible screws. The profile design enables efficient installation while reducing cutting waste through optimised dimensions. The system has also been developed to facilitate disassembly and material reuse, supporting circular building strategies throughout the façade’s service life.

In addition to façades, the system is suitable for ceiling applications and has been adapted for other building elements, including roof systems and decking solutions. The aluminium profiles are designed to reduce the accumulation of dirt and insects while maintaining a durable, low-maintenance exterior finish.
