RePit is a sustainable design project that transforms discarded date pits into reusable materials, while bridging tradition and innovation. By harnessing the potential of agricultural waste, RePit reimagines date pits as a valuable resource for 3D printing, offering an eco-friendly alternative to conventional materials. This project not only highlights the untapped potential of local by-products but also celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Oman’s date palm farming. The pilot project features a collection of unique, 3D printed tiles inspired by the natural patterns of the desert dunes. RePit is a testament to the power of design to address environmental challenges and create a circular economy rooted in local materials and craftsmanship.
