Save Plastics builing elements
Save Plastics transforms locally collected, difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into building products for circular construction. The recycled plastic can be used for elements such as façade cladding, decking and modular building components, providing an alternative destination for plastic streams that might otherwise be incinerated or discarded.
The material is suitable for prefabricated and modular construction. Save Plastics demonstrates this through projects such as the Save Cabin, a tiny house containing more than 800 kg of recycled household plastic, and the 20 m² Plastic Beach House prototype, which incorporates 7,482 kg of plastic waste.
The plastic components are designed for durable outdoor use and can contribute to movable and adaptable building concepts. By processing waste into new construction products, Save Plastics aims to keep plastic in circulation locally and reduce demand for virgin building materials.
