Tactile textiles

In collaboration with textile designer Lucy Simpson, Paula Nerlich developed these tactile textiles. The material consists of knitted fabric (silk/mohair) with silicone combined with melted fibres and paint applied in various patterns, creating a textured surface and merging the silicone textiles of Lucy’s work with the tactile knotted qualities of Paula’s work for the ongoing Project Tactile Textiles..
