Aled Roberts – Green Space: how off-world construction technologies could boost sustainability on Earth

Aled obtained a degree in chemistry at the University of Liverpool before pursuing a PhD jointly at Liverpool and in Singapore. He subsequently undertook several postdoctoral research positions at the University of Manchester where he specialised at the interface of Materials Engineering and Biotechnology. He founded DeakinBio after conducting experiments in his basement over the COVID-19 pandemic where he discovered a process to produce a bio-based alternative to ceramic tiles through a simple, low-energy process.
