About this talk
Humade has been investigating the extent to which it is possible to produce large-scale ceramic products from dredged sea silt since 2020. It was previously thought that it would be difficult to apply the clay because salt is not always as desirable within the ceramics process. However, Humade has managed to develop several usable recipes and there are opportunities for various ceramics techniques. Due to the positive test results, Humade, together with Koninklijke Tichelaar, Groningen Seaports and others are scaling up the process towards a renewable ceramic material, with the first objective being the production of facade panels and glazes.
