Luciana Dos Santos Duarte – The Fabric of the Forest: how innovative rubber materials are produced in the Amazon for fashion companies

Dr. Luciana dos Santos Duarte is a multidisciplinary researcher, holding a joint-degree PhD in Production Engineering (Brazil) and in Development Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Luciana is a lecturer in Industrial Design Engineering at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and a guest lecturer in other institutions. Currently, she coordinates the minor Design with Nature, focused on biomimicry. As the leader of Amazonia Design, a design agency specializing in fashion and industrial design projects with a focus on sustainability, Luciana has spoken at fashion weeks in Europe and BRICS+ countries, as well as the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
