Maria Gasparian – Strength, Utility and Beauty: decorative ceramics in architecture

Maria Gasparian is an award-winning ceramic artist, architect and researcher based in London. Gasparian won the Unilever Sustainability Award for innovation in 2016 and was awarded Winston Churchill Fellowship to research global applications of architectural ceramics. Gasparian is the founder of Maria Gasparian Studio, a multidisciplinary practice that combines art, architecture and design. The aim of the practice is to create multisensory experiences through tactile and colourful ceramic interventions and to contribute to a sustainable, socially inclusive and engaging environment.
