Acoustic ceiling baffles made with recycled shoes

US-based acoustic solutions company Kirei launched acoustic baffles made of recycled PET with a centre of ground down Nike shoes.

The U-shaped baffles are made of 12mm EchoPanel, panels made from recycled PET bottles, a material more often used in acoustic solutions. The panel contains at least 60 per cent post-consumer content.

Called Air Baffles, the baffles, which come with or without a window, are filled with Nike Grind Fluff, a mix of recycled materials created from sportswear brand Nike’s end-of-life- footwear.

The baffles can be suspended from the ceiling using suspension cables and are available in various lengths and colours.
