Visit us at METS
As we reported in the summer, Materia will be present at the Marine Equipment Trade Show with our travelling showcase, Material Xperience On Tour. The event takes place from November 19th – 21st 2013 at the Amsterdam RAI.
As a part of the Construction Material Pavilion, Materia will be displaying innovative materials for the maritime sector. We will have 125 innovative materials on display at METS.
These materials have all been selected for their potential within the marine construction industry. Good examples are lightweight and fire resistant materials, composites and interior cladding, but there will be all sorts on display.
To help inspire naval architects, designers and shipyards use innovative new materials in boat and yacht construction, we are also curating a dedicated programme of expert speakers. Some of the highlights are below, and you can find the full programme here.
Every day during the show, Materia’s very own Els Zijlstra will lecture on innovative materials ‘between the floating and the fixed world’. We’ll also have the following experts to share their wisdom:
“Material synergy between design markets”
Nedcam‘s Erwin van Maaren and Rene Holman on how cross-sector discussion and techno-transfer can accelerate innovation.
“How to deal with new materials?”
Huibert Groenendijk on the why and how of building boats, both in the past and in the future.
“Using water to combat global challenges”
Waterstudio‘s Koen Olthuis on water villas, floating mosques and floating cities and how to make this work.
