PrimaLoft Introduces Ultrapeak: A New Generation of Sustainable Insulation

News · Story by MaterialDistrict · 28 Oct 2025 · 1 min read

PrimaLoft, a global specialist in advanced insulation materials, has launched Ultrapeak, its most high-performing and sustainable insulation so far. Developed after years of research, Ultrapeak combines strong thermal performance with a soft texture and a lower environmental impact.

High Performance with Lower Emissions

Ultrapeak is made from 100% recycled fibres and produced with PrimaLoft PURE (Produced Using Reduced Emissions) technology. This process cuts carbon emissions by at least 50 per cent compared with traditional manufacturing. The material delivers high warmth, volume, and softness, making it the warmest insulation in the PrimaLoft range.

Specially designed fibres interlock to trap heat efficiently while keeping the material light and resilient. This structure creates a soft, lofty texture similar to down, but without animal-derived content. It also helps the insulation keep its shape and performance after repeated use.

Designed for Efficiency and Comfort

Ultrapeak is easy to handle during garment production, improving efficiency for makers of outdoor and performance clothing. By redesigning the fibres, PrimaLoft has achieved a balance between warmth, comfort, and durability that suits a wide range of high-performance applications.

Moving Towards Responsible Manufacturing

The launch of Ultrapeak supports PrimaLoft’s shift to more sustainable production. Since early 2025, the company has used PURE technology for its Gold Insulation range, with more products to follow. Its Relentlessly Responsible approach focuses on combining innovation with clear reductions in environmental impact.

For fashion and product designers, Ultrapeak shows how fibre innovation can lead to more circular, resource-efficient textiles that meet both performance and sustainability goals.
