OrganicBoard

About this material

OrganicBoard is a decorative chipboard developed by Pfleiderer that focuses on reducing the use of fossil-based raw materials while maintaining the performance required for furniture and interior applications. The panels combine recycled wood with a biogenic adhesive system, contributing to lower emissions and a more resource-efficient production process.

A key element of OrganicBoard is the use of OrganicGlue, a biogenic binder made from renewable raw materials originating from other industrial processes. This significantly reduces dependence on fossil resources such as natural gas and urea. In addition, the use of recycled wood supports circular material flows by extending the lifespan of wood fibres and keeping biogenic carbon stored for longer periods.

OrganicBoard is available in two core variants. OrganicBoard P2 contains approximately 50% recycled wood and 50% OrganicGlue, using formaldehyde-reduced resins. OrganicBoard Pure P2 is produced with 100% recycled wood and 100% OrganicGlue and uses formaldehyde-free resins. Both variants are suitable for decorative applications in furniture and interior design.

The range includes several product types, such as PrimeBoard XTreme Matt Organic Pure P2 and various Duropal Element panels, including versions with matt, standard and real metal surfaces. The panels feature low-emission properties, antimicrobial surfaces, are easy to clean, suitable for food-contact environments and can be processed using standard woodworking techniques.

OrganicBoard is available in a wide selection of decors and surface textures from the Pfleiderer EXPRESS collection and can be combined with other Pfleiderer products through the DST system for consistent design across different materials. Typical applications include residential and commercial interiors, hospitality environments, educational buildings and healthcare facilities.

OrganicBoard Pure P2 is certified under several environmental schemes, including Cradle to Cradle Certified™, reflecting its focus on material health and circularity. Additional certifications, such as FSC® or PEFC™, are available on request.
