A watch made of recycled stainless steel and hemp residue

News · Story by MaterialDistrict · 12 Sept 2024 · 1 min read

Luxury watch brand ID Genève and German start-up revoltech collaborated to create a watch made of recycled stainless steel and a wrist band made of a leather alternative made of hemp residue.

Called the ELEMENTS collection, ID Genève created a series of five 37mm watches with a nature inspired design. The watch cases are made of 100% recycled stainless steel, while the dials are crafted using nano-engraving technology developed by Morphotonix.

The material LOVR, developed by revoltech (which you can find in our collection here), is used in the watch straps. The material, a leather alternative said to be fully recyclable and biodegradable, is made of hemp residues. LOVR is both vegan and plastic-free.
