Theatre design is another dynamic sector featured in Materia’s ‘Leisure & Hospitality’ exhibition. From top-performing acoustic materials to sensuous fabrics, we are showcasing innovative materials that make an evening at the theatre an experience for the senses.

The theatre is a versatile stage for performance through media such as film, speech, music, song and dance. Besides the artistic representation itself, a comfortable seat, strategic lighting and a stylish décor are essential ingredients for successful theatre design.

It is also imperative that materials used in theatre design are responsive to fire safety regulations, acoustic demands and the general wear and tear caused by high traffic volume in such environments.

Some of the ‘top-performers’ we’ve selected for this sector include Lightben Acoustic (PLA736), a composite, translucent panel designed to enhance the acoustic performance of interiors as well as ultra-glamorous, soft and glittering metal meshes by Maglia Metallica (MET154).
