Materia in Israel

Woods, resins and natural stones are on display in Israel this Autumn. Here’s the exclusive show preview, with some of the material highlights.

We are very happy to be able to present some of our favourite materials for indoor use as an exclusive show in Israel this autumn. Materia has been invited by Israeli design brand Parqueteam to present a selection of 150 materials to a limited audience of Israel’s top architects and designers at their Tel Aviv showroom. Materials for floors and walls are the subject of the new and intimate exhibition.

To celebrate the expansion of the brand’s range to include resins, as well as the wood and stone that they already work with, the materials on show will be divided into these three categories. All of the materials on display will come from Materia’s growing collection of innovative materials for the design and building communities.

Between October 29th and November 1st 2013, Materia will host the exclusive exhibition for Parqueteam relations. Besides CEO Jeroen van Oostveen, Materia founder and Creative Director Els Zijlstra will be present to give a series of high-level workshops aimed at demonstrating the inspiring quality of each of the materials on show.

The materials on display are notable for their variation in looks and application. ‘End grain veneer’, for example, laminates loose wooden discs for original veneer decks. You can find out more here (WOO186). The ‘Genesis PD’ resin (PLA331) is a unique panel with real chilli-peppers cast in epoxy-coating. A mix of natural semiprecious stones, fossils and petrified wood creates an unusual ‘Prexury’ (NST046). ‘Mosaik Boden’ is an exceptional material using small slices of antler, placed on a backing in order to form a colourful, translucent, resin mosaic (ONA154).

Parqueteam is a high-end designer, retailer and installer which specialises in indoor and outdoor projects, including commercial and private projects. The company provides surfacing floors and walls, stairs, pergolas and more. Materia is looking forward to this first collaboration in Israel.
