Balancing by Studio Rene Siebum at MX2015

‘Balancing’ is a stool that balances the position of the body. This object anticipates the movement of the spine so that the user subconsciously keeps their body in subtle, perpetual motion. Throughout this ongoing movement, the stool corrects the posture of the body and keeps the back muscles flexible. The three blocks are an abstraction of human vertebrae and made of untreated solid yellow popular wood.

In the Studio of Rene Siebum, the craftsman meets the designer on an equal level. Concept and Craft are complementary processes, bringing together essence and function in a clear and plain design language. Human nature forms a rich source of inspiration for this studio’s work, resulting in objects that provoke interaction between the user and space.
