Classic meets Modern: ‘Louis’ Brings Back the Retro Sound of Vinyl

Louis is an analog speaker designed by Paolo Cappello for Newblack that allows you to rediscover the sound of old vinyl records thanks to it’s wooden trumpet shape that mimics old tube speaker systems.

A true dialogue and meeting between modern technology and classic materials, the speaker itself is devoid of any electronic components. Music from your Smartphone is instead warmed up, enhanced and exalted by the retro shape and materiality of Louis.

The dedicated app dialogues with Louis shape, playing or stopping the music automatically.

“Louis is the union between the present and the past, between the technology that accompanies us daily and the simplicity of gestures, between design and Italian craftsmanship. Louis is the creation of design that makes our playlists’ musical notes warm and enveloping, giving us a fantastic journey into retro atmospheres and sounds while discovering memories from the past,” says Paolo Cappello.

Originally from Verona, Paola Cappello is a young designer whose talent and creativity is being recognized internationally. His creations for example have been included in many renowned newspapers including the NY Times, Abitare, Interni, Residence, Icon, Elle Decor, Rolling Stone and Vogue.
