Healthy materials featured at ARCHITECT@WORK Amsterdam
On Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 September 2023, ARCHITECT@WORK will take place at Taets on the Hembrugterrein in Zaandam. It will be the first edition of the event in the Amsterdam metropolitan region. Architectenweb is once again organising a lecture programme on the theme ‘Healthy Materials’.
Until now, ARCHITECT@WORK was organised every two years in Rotterdam. After nine successful editions in Rotterdam – with an average of 4,500 visitors – the trade show is now accelerating the frequency to annual in the Netherlands, alternating between Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
The theme of ARCHITECT@WORK is again ‘Healthy Materials’. In addition to the lecture programme, organised by Architectenweb, this will be reflected, for example, in the photo exhibition by Dutch Architecture Photographers (DAPh). Of course, MaterialDistrict will also be present with its exhibition ‘Healthy Heroes’.
This exhibition, specially curated for ARCHITECT@WORK, shows a wide range of more than 100 innovative material samples. The exhibition is divided into two main themes.
Healthy Spaces shows a selection of materials that contribute to a healthy indoor climate (ventilating, air-purifying, moisture-regulating, thermally insulating), materials that protect us (antibacterial, UV-protected, anti-radiation, non-toxic, anti-allergenic) and materials that contribute to good acoustics and connection with the outside (daylight, greenery).
Healthy Planet pays ample attention to materials with a low CO2 footprint (biobased, circular), materials that generate or save energy, materials that are recyclable or reusable, and materials that are waste-saving or made from waste.
