Tears Off Wallpaper

‘Tears Off’ is a type of modular wallpaper created with a specially designed perforation. By tearing off pieces of the wallpaper, you can create your own individual design.

The wallpaper itself is made out of a non-woven materials that are easy to tear with the resulting  shapes of the torn pieces inspired by the forms and transformations of snakes. As strips are peeled away, the colours and texture of the wallpaper underneath becomes a significant elements of the overall design.

This material concept comes from ZNAK, a Lativan based design studio and it was developed in collaboration with Dutch conceptual artist Aldo Kroese and the Berlin Design pair Studio Hausen.
