A watch made of a meteorite

Toledano & Chan’s b/1m watch is a timepiece crafted primarily from a real meteorite, and inspired by Brutalism.

The design incorporates the natural, unpolished texture of the meteorite into the case, dial, and lugs, giving the watch a rugged, raw aesthetic. A grey ostrich leg strap matches the dark, textured look of the meteorite.

Drawing inspiration from Brutalist architecture, the watch’s design is minimalist, with no numbers or symbols on the dial. It reflects the Brutalist approach to design, echoing geometric shapes like those found in Marcel Breuer’s Whitney Museum of American Art (now Sotheby’s).

The b/1m prototype is a one-of-a-kind model that will be auctioned at TimeForArt in December 2024, with a limited production run planned for 2025. While future models may see some visual adjustments, the focus on the meteorite as the key material will remain.
